Exchequer only supports one discount for each customer unless each stock item is added to each customer as a separate special price. This is both time consuming and hard to maintain for Organisations which have stock items which require numerous different Discount Groups for different customers.
MPrice allows for easier maintenance of stock item discounts and the associated customers and provides the ability to add further Discount Groups.
MPrice allows easy maintenance of pricing data and importation of data via Excel spreadsheets, effective reporting and provides a single point of visibility for pricing, with the ability to expand upon the initial pricing requirements.
Discount Groups of stock items and their associated discount percentages are stored in an external database, which also contains a list of customers and the discount group they are a member of, as well as any Special Prices. Customers can also be assigned to Customer Groups which in turn can be members of Discount Groups.
When a sales order is entered in Exchequer, it checks the database for a discount and applies it to the price.
A search facility is provided, that shows the effective price for a customer of an item. If it exists in a number of different Discount Groups or Special Prices, then the cheapest price takes precedence.
A modifiable Quantity Break is used to dictate which of the two Discount Percentages is applied. The Quantity Break is for the total quantity of the order, not each line. There is an additional option to have specific Quantity Breaks on each Discount Group and/or each Customer.
These override the Global Quantity Break. Customer Quantity Break takes precedence, followed by Discount Group and finally, Global.
MPrice provides 7 major elements:
Spreadsheet importer - This takes a pre-defined spreadsheet and imports it into the database. There are two options for importing this spreadsheet, blank the database first and import or update the existing data from the spreadsheet. A confirmation message appears when trying to blank the database to avoid mistakes. Data is backed up before the database is wiped.
Customer View - This is a list of customers and the associated Discount Groups they are members of. These records can be added, deleted and edited. Exchequer Price Bands for each customer are also visible and modifiable here but these link directly to the Exchequer Customer Price Band and not the MPrice database.
Discount Groups - This shows a list of Discount Group names, which once selected, show the stock items and discounts that exist within the group. These groups and their Exchequer stock items/groups can be added, deleted and edited. Although each stock item within a group can have its own discount percentage, an option is available to overwrite all the percentages within that group in one go.
A checkbox called Inclusive/Exclusive Stock List allows a Discount Group to apply to ALL stock items in Exchequer.
Special Prices - This shows any single item special prices that a customer may have and is either a discount percentage or a specific price.
Customer Groups – This shows a list of Customer Group names, which once selected, shows the Exchequer Customers that exist within the group. These groups can be added, edited and deleted. These groups are treated like single customers and are visible in the Discount Groups sections.
Reporting Tool – This allows reports to be generated from the data into CSV format or on screen.
Effective Price Search – This allows for a stock code and customer to be entered which then shows the effective price based on the lowest discount found for that stock item.
